This Cookie policy explains how Cadances (the Service) uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a site. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, work in the same way. They let the Service function, remember your choices, and help us understand and improve how it is used.

The categories we use

  • Necessary. Required for the Service to work, and always on. They keep you signed in, secure your session, remember your language and theme, and store your cookie choices. Without them the Service cannot work properly.
  • Analytics. Optional. With your consent we load Vercel Web Analytics, which helps us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. It works without cookies and stores no identifier on your device; the data is aggregated.
  • Marketing. Optional. These let us measure how our advertising performs and reach people who have already visited the Service. We do not sell your data. This category covers the cookies of the Google advertising tag. It does not control the Meta pixel, described below, which runs without your consent.

Analytics technologies and the cookies of the Google advertising tag are loaded only after you agree to them. The Meta pixel is the exception: it runs for every visitor, as explained below.

The cookies we use

Necessary cookies, set by Cadances:

  • cc_consent (6 months): stores your cookie choices.
  • Sign-in cookies (names starting with sb-): keep you signed in and secure your session; they last for your sign-in session and are renewed while you use the Service.
  • locale (12 months): your language.
  • theme and contrast (12 months): your display preferences.
  • hide_amounts (12 months): remembers when you hide the amounts on screen.
  • tz (12 months): your time zone, so dates and times display correctly.
  • active_portfolio_id (12 months): the portfolio you last worked in.
  • cdn_plan_intent (1 hour): the plan you picked on the pricing page, kept only through signup.

Marketing cookies:

  • _fbp (3 months, set by Meta): identifies your browser for advertising measurement. Set for every visitor, whatever your cookie choice. See the next section.

Analytics sets no cookies: Vercel Web Analytics works without them.

The Meta pixel

We load the Meta pixel, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, on every page and for every visitor, from the first page you open. It does not wait for your consent: the cookie banner, the Marketing switch in the cookie settings and the Global Privacy Control signal of your browser have no effect on it. It sets the _fbp cookie described above.

It sends Meta these events:

  • a page view for every page you open on the Service;
  • a view of the sign-up form, with the name of the button or link that brought you there (for example the navigation bar, the pricing page or the FAQ) and the plan you picked, if any;
  • the creation of your account, once, when a new account first reaches the application.

Each event carries the technical data Meta collects by default: your IP address, information about your browser, the address of the page and the _fbp identifier. We never send Meta your name, your email address or your portfolio data.

We use it to:

  • measure how many people who saw one of our ads on Facebook or Instagram went on to sign up, and which button brought them to the form;
  • show our ads to people who have already visited the Service.

The cookie settings on this site cannot switch the pixel off. To block it, use a content blocker or a browser setting that blocks connect.facebook.net. Meta's use of the data it receives is governed by its own policy, and you can exercise your rights towards Meta through its own settings.

Managing your choices

When you first visit, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies. You can accept all, reject all, or choose by category, and "Reject all" is always as easy as "Accept all". We ask again at most every 6 months, or sooner if the categories change. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer, or the control shown on this page. Necessary cookies cannot be switched off because the Service depends on them. Your choice governs analytics and the cookies of the Google advertising tag; it does not govern the Meta pixel, described above.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the Service may not work as expected.

Third parties

Meta Platforms Ireland Limited sets a cookie on our pages for every visitor, as described above. With your consent to marketing cookies, the Google advertising tag can set its own cookies. Each provider's use of data is governed by its own policy. The other providers we use are listed in our Privacy policy.

Changes

We may update this policy as the Service or the technologies it uses change. The "last updated" date above shows the latest version.
