Cookie policy

This Cookie policy explains how Cadances (the Service) uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a site. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, work in the same way. They let the Service function, remember your choices, and help us understand and improve how it is used.

The categories we use

• Necessary. Required for the Service to work, and always on. They keep you signed in, secure your session, remember your language and theme, and store your cookie choices. Without them the Service cannot work properly.
• Analytics. Optional. With your consent we load Vercel Web Analytics, which helps us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. It works without cookies and stores no identifier on your device; the data is aggregated.
• Marketing. Optional. These let us measure how our advertising performs and reach people who have already visited the Service. We do not sell your data. This category covers the Meta pixel, described below.

Analytics and marketing technologies are loaded only after you agree to them.

The cookies we use

Necessary cookies, set by Cadances:

• cc_consent (6 months): stores your cookie choices.
• Sign-in cookies (names starting with sb-): keep you signed in and secure your session; they last for your sign-in session and are renewed while you use the Service.
• locale (12 months): your language.
• theme and contrast (12 months): your display preferences.
• hide_amounts (12 months): remembers when you hide the amounts on screen.
• tz (12 months): your time zone, so dates and times display correctly.
• active_portfolio_id (12 months): the portfolio you last worked in.
• cdn_plan_intent (1 hour): the plan you picked on the pricing page, kept only through signup.

Marketing cookies, set only with your consent:

• _fbp (3 months, set by Meta): identifies your browser for advertising measurement. See the next section.

Analytics sets no cookies: Vercel Web Analytics works without them.

The Meta pixel

When you accept marketing cookies, we load the Meta pixel, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. It sets the _fbp cookie described above.

We use it to:

• measure how many people who saw one of our ads on Facebook or Instagram went on to sign up;
• show our ads to people who have already visited the Service.

If you reject marketing cookies, the pixel script is never added to the page and no data about your visit reaches Meta. You can withdraw your consent at any time from the cookie settings in the footer, which stops any further collection.

Managing your choices

When you first visit, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies. You can accept all, reject all, or choose by category, and "Reject all" is always as easy as "Accept all". We ask again at most every 6 months, or sooner if the categories change. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer, or the control shown on this page. Necessary cookies cannot be switched off because the Service depends on them.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the Service may not work as expected.

Third parties

The only third party that sets a cookie on our pages is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, and only after you accept marketing cookies. Meta's use of data is governed by its own policy. The other providers we use are listed in our Privacy policy.

Changes

We may update this policy as the Service or the technologies it uses change. The "last updated" date above shows the latest version.
